Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession to help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement, exercise, manual therapy, physical agents (like heat, cold, electricity and sound), education and advice.
Physical therapy provides services to individuals and populations to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan. This includes providing services in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by ageing, injury, pain, diseases, disorders, conditions or environmental factors.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T) is a professional health care based course designed to taught students about core skills related to manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and application of electro-physical modalities. It is a duration of 4½ years course included with an internship of 6 months.
Supervised rotatory clinical training will be provided at least 2 hrs/day in Physiotherapy Clinic/OPD during the Third and Final year. Covering up 2710 hours of Examination/NON Examination papers, 1450 Hours of Clinical (Course Teaching) and 1152 Hours of Clinical (Physiotherapy Internship) throughout the course as per the curriculum defined by Dr. M.G.R Medical University, Chennai.
As per Dr. M.G.R Medical University, all candidates admitted to Bachelor of Physiotherapy Degree Course will undergo Six (6) months of Physiotherapy internship in the Institution after the final year examination for candidates declared to have passed the examination in all the subjects. During the internship students will be working as a full time or average of 7 hours per day (each working day) for 6 Calendar months in the following clinical areas.
